Installations

Mosaics integrate well between your hard and soft landscape design, adding warmth and imagination to your garden.  This mosaic was made in several sections and installed with bricks to create this 7' x 10' patio.

Community Public Art Installations

Public community art is an important component of Dragonfly Design's work.  It represents the philosophy that creativity and beauty play an integral role in people's lives.  By involving community in the design and fabrication process of these public installations you empower people and encourage ownership of our local neighbourhoods.  With proper professional facilitation we can create outstanding works of art that become a legacy to our community now and for generations to come.

With the 2010 Olympics coming we are excited by the opportunity for larger scale work that will show the world that Vancouver's citizens are motivated by community and inspiration.

Duchess Walkway at 29th Avenue Skytrain, Slocan Park

"The Still Creek"

This legacy mosaic installation integrated community development with public art.  Local artists Jennifer Norquist, January Wolodarsky and Gerry Sheena worked with the community, Vancouver Park board and the City of Vancouver to create a walkway that included a totem pole, light sculptures (not yet installed), and eight large scale mosaics (3x3-7x2 metres sq).  The whole walkway represents the actual Still Creek that runs under the park and the main mosaics represent the four elements.
